We aim for this website to be accessible. We are aiming to achieve WAI AA conformance. We have picked a design and look for the site that works on the main browsers - Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera (over 98% of our visitors use one of these browsers). This site is also responsive to scale for mobile and tablet devices. If you think your browser is displaying stale content, please clear the cache and try again.
We do not use audio files or design elements such as scrolling or flashing text.
We intend to work towards the WAI content guidelines.
You should be able to use the free Acrobat reader to view the PDF files on Canoe Scotland. However, Adobe have developed an online conversion tool to allow users to view PDF documents as HTML or plain ASCII text.
We will work to ensure that all images and on CanoeScotland are provided with a meaningful description. Where a link opens in a new browser window, the link will be tagged to say so. We do not use image maps as these can be difficult to use.
We do not use technologies such as flash as these can pose problems for some users, whether they have disabilities or not, due to browser compatibility problems.
Our philosophy is that web pages should look good, display consistently on standards compliant browsers and work on everything else. If you experience any problems, please let us know.
